“Ground breakers” Project, the trailblazers of Smart Farming.
The first stage of the project by Monsanto was getting to know the soil, and it was performed by AgriSOING.
The trailblazers chosen by Monsanto agricoltura Italia were:
–Az.agricola Fratelli Abrate, in Bra (CN)
–Az.agricola La Pianura, in Ghisalba (BG)
–Az.agricola Cazzola, in Gazzo Veronese (VR)
–Az.agricola Le Roste, in Roveredo in Piano (PN)
A new integrated project of soil characterisation which Monsanto is promoting with its customers distributed in northern Italy has just ended, part of the larger program called Ground breakers.
A soil type analysis was performed in these 4 companies with our integrated method: from geophysics, to soil science with chemical and physical analyses and the creation of soilscapes. The knowledge gained on soil quality is the starting point for the separate management of the corporate surface which will be programmed with the soilscapes. Therefore, thanks to the various types of soil, it is possible to manage the modern variable rate technologies (VRT) for reseeding in an improved manner.
