In July 2010, an integrated survey was carried out for the characterisation of the soil and of a vineyard on about 8ha of farm land owned by the winery Duemani of Riparbella. The project included geophysical investigations of soil, foliar reflectance measurements (NDVI), the identification of homogeneous areas with choice and sampling of soil samples with the related chemical and physical analysis and the preparation of the sampling and production monitoring plan, according to a selective grape harvest. The project was also run on a WebGIS system built specifically, called AgroMap.
The experience gained by Soing between 2010 and 2011 for work carried out at The Macchiole, Duemani and in the US with Tecnovite Toscana led to the article published in VQ vino vite e qualità, VQ n2 April 201, prepared by Giovanni Bitella, Roberta Rossi and Pierpaolo Pagni, entitled “La coppia perfetta. L’analisi della resistività ben si sposa con la viticoltura che punta ad una gestione sito-specifica del vigneto (The perfect couple. Resistivity analysis well matches up with viticulture which focuses on site-specific management of the vineyard.)”.
